friday 5

So I figure what is better to do on this BEAUTIFUL sunny/ semi-warm day than answer the friday 5
  1. What’s the most annoying sound in the world? I REALLY hate chalkboard scratching more than anything in the world
  2. Which of other people’s mannerisms do you find very annoying? My fiance puts things in his mouth while he is talking to people, like his sweatshirt strings and things like that.. that drives me nuts.
  3. What do you do that really annoys others? I probably talk to much
  4. In what way has your own behavior recently caused you annoyance? I get way too stressed and worked up about things, it drives me nuts bc I can never relax
  5. Who’s the most annoying person you know? I have a few customers at my job that drive me a little crazy

FOR OUR LOCATION FOR OUR WEDDING!!! yep that is the deposit that we are sending in this week! I am soooooo excited! It takes a big weight off of (at least) my shoulders. we can sit back and relax for a while and have a date to tell people. out next endeavor is the caterer. I'm hoping we can do the food for like $5,000 which is reasonable. Did I say I am SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!

rejection.. and such

So the real news to start with- I didn't get accepted to the nursing department. I am not really upset, I kind of knew I was not getting in this time around, but I did have some hope. I'm more angry with the stupid letter. I basically said that they gave first priority to those that have all of the minimum prerequisites done with "hidh academic performance" Which I do have. I have an A in chem, an A in Anatomy and physiology I an A in Pharmacology Calculations.. so that is a bogus reason. I KNOW I didn't get in because I still have to complete A&P II and Microbiology, which I will have done at the end of this semester.. But like I said I am not really upset.. I just fell a little lost.. Like I don't know what to do next.. what the next step is for me. Do I wait until next year to apply to a bunch of different places since I still have some other classes to take anyways, or do I go ahead and apply now and see what happens... ugh I just don't know

in other news- Tamela from A Brunette Making It One Day At A Time has tagged me to do this. Her blog is a lot like mine and she leaves me some awesome comments so I decided to go ahead and do this little thing

wedding and such

I was sooo nice out today! I sat outside doing homework while Christopher raked the lawn. and let me tell you, that was no small task, the lawn looks like it hasn't been raked in YEARS! The sun was nice and warm on my face and Chris now looks like a lobster hehe.

in other news- I was told today by a reliable source, that the admissions department had the list for the nursing students. I don't know how I feel about this. I keep saying that I won't be sad if I don't get in, but you know what, I may go into complete Nervous Break Down mode. I just have no idea what emotions will go through me at the point. Hell I might get IN and still go into a nervous break down.

Chris and I are going to see a place for our wedding 0n Sunday. It is the Kinney bungalow, it is really pretty and its a good price. I hope we like it when we go see it. This wedding has been a real decubitus ulcer on both of our backsides. We are so torn about doing this the "right way" and have a nice (but not necessarily expensive) wedding or just kinda get married and throw a kegger. I really like the kegger idea and so does he because for us to put out thousands of dollars does not make a ton of sense because we just don't have it. However, we have firend and family that will be traveling some distance if the so choose to come and we can't rightfully ask then to come from NJ or CA for a BBQ... Plus, my mom seems to really want us to have a nice wedding and it will just save a lot of headaches and heartbreak if we do.We have had some really unpleasant fights about it and it really has not been a fun experience trying to plan this thing. I thought planning a wedding was supposed to be a good time and fun.. I don't know I just hope Sunday goes well.

I'm not domestic.. I'm not a very good cook, I hate to clean, and I certainly don't like decorating. But since I'm engaged I suppose I need to be better at these things at some point? poor Christopher. Funny thing is, once we have children he may be a stay at home dad because I will be making WAY more money.. so who needs to be the domestic one hehe..

Sigh... I don't know

my new obsession

I have to have it!

Chris is going to the Verizon store to see if they will let him upgrade early and honor an online deal of buy on get one...

I should have bought a black berry when I originally got a phone!

taking care of myself

Because school has me all crazy all the time, I don't get to take very good care of myself. I eat kinda crappy because I don't have time, I don't really do my hair in the morning most days, and I always wear jeans and a t shirt. However, my biggest thing right now is that I really need to drop 10 pounds. I want to look beautiful in my wedding dress, and I want to feel that way too! Plus, my wedding is really my major motivation since I have been trying to do this forever. When I started college I was 155, since then (almost 3 years) I have gained 11 pounds so to get back there, or beyond, would really be fantastic.

so I have made a decision..

starting today (since I had to have my Easter candy hehe) I am really going to begin focusing on losing weight. No more junk food, no more soda, and I am going to try and red a little running in 3 days a week. I can't run really far outside but I am going to work up to it. I need to do this for myself so that I can finally be happy with myself. I am hoping that by actually putting this into words I will really do it and it will be a constant reminder and encouragement.

well, off to school for the day, and then to work tonight.. fun fun

The Woes of Retail

so 3-11 last night- it was slamming, all the way till closing, if you would believe that. Who knew people had to do a full grocery shopping at 1045 pm on a Saturday. I know I could find a whole lot of better things to do.

customer one:
Manager- ma'am we are close its 1055 please make your final selections.
customer (with baby)- *nasty attitude* I still have 5 minutes!

see If I were the manage I would have said no we go by my watch and my cashiers (being me hehe) Have to go home promptly at 11! so please make your final selections and head to the checkout department. but alas, that did not happen and there i was at 1101 cashing said customer w/ baby out.

and this one REALLY gets me
Manager- "attention *company name* shoppers, the time is not 11 pm and we are officially closed

while the manager it saying this another customer walks through the door (someone must have let this bi**h in bc all the doors were locked) and proceeds to find her items..
so here i am at 1105 STILL standing at my register waiting to go home while this person, who i guess could not wait till 7AM today to get her freaking groceries, is shopping.

gotta love retail!

Happy easter

After a fun filled weekend of work, where I worked 3-11 last night and 830-230 today, my fantastic FH made a delicious Easter dinner for the 2 of us. That is why I love him so much...

ps supermarket around the holidays= crazy people all week

work work work

I have such mixed feelings about working...
but don't we all

I like to work. I really like to make money. I have a good job and work with some pretty cool people and its easy and flexible. I go to school full time too, so I would like some free time to do school work.. since that is more important. But doing school work does not make me any money at this present time.

But alas, I have to do both

It just gets tiring. I have to deal with the public and try to make everyone happy, don't you know the customer is always right? Not to mention I live on Cape Cod so I deal with a lot of tourists and people that don't speak English so they have no idea what I am trying to say to them(boy does that get tricky) I have to break out my hand gestures and try to use really basic terms... needless to say they still don't get it. So this week and next week I have over 30 hours. Its fantastic because I really need the money, seeing as I am trying to fund a wedding and save money for a place to live.. and pay some bills... but I only have one day off in each 7 day period... bummer. PLUS- everything from school has their deadlines around now since there are only 4 weeks left in this semester. I guess there will be some late nights coming my way.

Speaking of 4 weeks left- they cannot come any faster! I need a break I need the time to really take care of myself and get things in order. like i said I really should begin losing those 10 pounds.. hopefully after tomorrow (Easter) I will being that adventure *officially*

on the wedding front- I found this cute store called colorful creations and found some paper to use as wedding color inspiration. The lady that works there is fantastic and the prices are pretty reasonable. That was a fun experience!

ok off to work from 3-11! The night before Easter- do you think it will be busy?
